Delta State, as is most states in Nigeria has been severely impacted by the recent flooding which has led to the increased displacements of women and girls. To ensure their protection from sexual exploitation and abuse, GRID carried out sensitization in Patani IDP camp on what constitutes Sexual Exploitation and Abuse(SEA) and violence against women and girls. IEC materials were distributed to women and men at the camp and community to mobilize their participation in preventing sexual exploitation an abuse against women and girls.
GRID also collaborated with the Delta State Ministry of Women Affairs in the establishment of a community based response mechanism in the camp where women and girls who experience sexual abuse can report such cases and receive support.
